At least the old (back in the days) limit of 256 characters should definately not be a problem. What kind of storage are holding your files that should be picket up?...

I found the cause of the slow loading workflow. It's related to detecting loops in the workflow and it looks like yours hit some bad code logic. Investigating and thanks for reporting!
