need help with command executor and ssh

Post by Drizzik » Fri Jan 10, 2020 2:02 pm

Hi all,

I'm a new user of FFAStrans (which is really good!!!) and I was wondering if it's possible to use "Command Executor" or anything else to connect and launch a custom ffmpeg command using SSH.
I tried using putty or plink but it seems I am not skilled enough.
The VM I want to connect uses linux but it shouldn't be a problem. All I need is :
- connect using ssh
- move to the folder I want
- launch ffmpeg custom command

I success to connect to the VM, but once I'm in, it doesn't want to do anything more.
(How should I write my 3 commands ? with "&&", with different "command editor" , ...?)

Thank you in advance.

PS: please excuse my awful english.

hey Drizzik,
welcome to the forum and thank you for using ffastrans!

The Command Executor is what you want. All you need to do is to make it work in a command prompt, without using ffastrans and when you are done, then you can copy/paste your command into the commandline processor. 2 commands in one line would be connected by a single "&".

This is what i would do if i was you:
-) Start without using ffastrans at all. Just use cmd promt and batch file alone.
-) I believe the best would be if you write what you want into a batch file
-) as soon as you have a working batch file that processes one file, you can post your batch here and i can show you how you can use variables and the "generate text" processor to generate this batch dynamically and later on execute the dynamic batch using the commandline processor...
