Interlacing Timecode frames 2x

Post by Russ3lHD »

Hi

im having some troubles with ffastrans, DNXHD and interlacing.
The issue i have is, the start tc of a video in avid is the frames x2.
Original File 10:20:15:7
After transcode 10:20:15:14

Is this know, and if yes is there a workaround?

Hi Tim,

Can you please send logs? Right click on the job in the status monitor and select "Export log to...".
Thanks.

Its an FFMPEG issue.

It happens when going from 50p to 50i.

Many thanks

Hi Tim,

I'm trying to recreate the issue from a 50p source with the same TC you provided but it stays the same in Avid. Would it be possible for you to share some short original file so that we have the same test source?
Another thing, there is no need for you to add the A/V Decoder -> FPS Converter for a simple 50p to 50i. The encoder will handle this. In fact, there is normally no need to go through the A/V Decoder for simple standard conversions. Skipping this will speed up your transcodings.
